Cleopatra: Discover the World of Cleopatra Through the Diary of Her Handmaiden Nefret

This illustrated biography series combines non-fiction and fiction to introduce readers to famous historical characters.

Each book begins with a diary, told from the point of view of a child who works for the famous person. At the end of each book, there is an illustrated reference chapter. At ten years old, Nefret becomes a handmaiden to Cleopatra, the last queen of Egypt. Nefret's diary gives a unique insight to the life of this most famous and powerful ruler; her brains and her beauty, music and merrymaking, her love for two great men, Julius Caesar and Mark Antony, and her determination to rule Egypt well.
